CU : Control Unit
CP: Control Plane
DU : Distributed Unit
RU : Radio Unit

INTERFACES: 

  • E1: This interface is between the gNB-CU-CP and gNB-CU-UP
  • E2: This interface is between  near-RT RIC and an E2 Node
  • F1-C: This interface is between the gNB-CU-CP and gNB-DU
  • F1-U:  This interface is between the gNB-CU-UP and gNB-DU
  • A1: This  interface is between Non-RT-RIC and the Near-RT RIC functions
  • O1: This interface is between O-RAN Managed Element and the management entity
  • O2: This interface is between the SMO and O-Cloud
  • X2-C: This interface is used for transmitting control plane information between eNBs or between eNB and en-gNB in EN-DC
  • X2-U: This interface is used for transmitting user plane information between eNBs or between eNB and en-gNB in EN-DC
  • NG-U: This interface is between the gNB-CU-UP and the UPF
  • NG-C: This interface is between the gNB-CU-CP and the AMF
